I used the top part of Evil Ted&#8217;s Samurai Helmet as a base to work from. The brim, nose guard, and the fins were freehanded pieces from scrap foam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-style-default\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" height=\"853\" width=\"640\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/haphazard.tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/20190516_234316-768x1024.jpg?resize=640%2C853&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1090\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Helmet<\/span><\/strong> Finial<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The finial was fun to sculpt. I used a circle cutter to cut out rounds of EVA Foam and then stacked together and glued. I used a round toothpick to hold anchor all of the pieces and to center the point on the top of the helmet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-style-default\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" height=\"853\" width=\"640\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/haphazard.tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/20190516_233242-768x1024.jpg?resize=640%2C853&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1095\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A Riveting Discussion<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Preparing for attaching the &#8220;rivets&#8221;. I measured the sections and marked off rivet points at even intervals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-style-default\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" height=\"853\" width=\"640\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/haphazard.tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/20190516_234242-768x1024.jpg?resize=640%2C853&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1089\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The rivets were simulated with Half-Round White Beads from Michael&#8217;s. I liked the rounded look better than googly eyes. The gaps were filled with EVA foam after wetting them down with water. I tried making the vertical pieces on the brim from Foam Clay, but they fell apart during sanding so Tom added strips of foam instead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-style-default\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" height=\"853\" width=\"640\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/haphazard.tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/20190518_194750-768x1024.jpg?resize=640%2C853&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1091\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Post-paint photo. Excuse the mess behind it.
